Astrological Relationship Pattern

Yesterday I was cracking up some old books and I found out an old one called "Love Sign" by Linda Goodman and I was like, "whoooah I used to like this one". A very thick book of astrology talking about relationship between zodiac signs.

So I want to write down a summary what is called as "Astrological Relationship Pattern" just in case I forgot. There are some known patterns of relationship between zodiacs especially in romance mentioned in Linda Goodman's Love Sign. I'm not a Love guru but here they go:

There are 7 patterns : 1-1, 2-12, 3-11, 4-10, 5-9, 6-8, 7-7.

First off, we must be able to determine what kind of pattern created between two sun-signs. This is how to calculate it. I will use an example:

Virgo and Leo, they form 2-12 relationship pattern, the distance between Leo to Virgo is 2 house (the reference house is also counted), and the distance between Virgo to Leo is 12 and we are using this series of house:
Aries-Taurus-Gemini-Cancer-Leo-Virgo-Libra-Scorpio-Sagittarius-Capricorn-Aquarius-Pisces.

So Aries and Libra would be 7-7 pattern, and Leo and Capricorn, and Capricorn and Gemini would be 6-8 pattern.

Explanation of pattern

1-1 pattern
The feeling of interest between the two people usually arises because of similarities between them both, they usually share common traits or character or background or hobby, that what bind them two. This kind of relationship works best when each of the pair shares common interest or similarity in a large space. Whenever each has no or little common things to share, each would hardly to get interested and the relationship wouldn't work. This is the relationship between people of the same zodiac sign.

2-12 pattern
This is the pattern of guru and student relationship. One of the couple would take position as the teacher and another would be his/her follower. One would become the wise and the other as the pupil of wisdom. One would lead the direction as the other would follow. One would become the parent and the other as the child. This relationship works best when one is in higher status in financial power, social influence, etc and the other is on lower lever. The example of this relationship are Aries and Taurus, Gemini and Cancer, etc.

3-11 pattern This is the pattern of friendship. Love will arise when they both become a very good friend, within the time they've shared all things that matter between them both. The relationship would be based on friendship, equality and closeness. They will never abandon each other as friend never would do. Usually love will come between them when they've known each other for so long. The example of this pattern are Libra-Sagittarius, Sagittarius-Aquarius, Scorpio-Capricorn, etc.

4-10 pattern
Interest and love usually comes when the two come from different source. Differences attract, that how we describe 4-11 pattern. They will find each other as interesting because of his/her differences in background, hobby, point of view, etc. Even when years had gone by, the two would still find each other as new as they first met. Exoticism, journey, challenge, exploration and travel is what this relationship all about. The example of this pattern are Aries - Cancer, Aries - Capricorn, Libra - Capricorn, etc.

5-9 pattern
This is the type of relationship which is highly driven by feeling, emotion, and sexuality. People call this relationship as eros love. Physical closeness, emotional expression, tears, angers, laughes ,cries, etc would color this relationship. This is most dramatic relationship of all. The two couple will bind each other by emotional depth and express their love through physical touches and eroticism. The example of this pattern are Capricorn-Taurus, Gemini-Aquarius, Cancer-Pisces, Aries-Leo, etc.

6-8 pattern While 5-9 pattern is driven by emotion, 6-8 pattern is driven by rational brain, set of rules, system, social ethic and value, culture, etc. This is called formal relationship. The two would enjoy the love when the two are living within set of rules they both agree upon. Family and friends and other social surroundings have high influence of how the couple will flow. This is a common view within traditional conservative family. The example of this pattern are Aries-Virgo, Cancer-Sagittarius, Libra-Pisces, etc.

7-7 pattern This type of pattern is called intellectual relationship. Love and interest may arise when the two share the same degree of education, financial power, family status, etc. This pattern is about competition, strugle and completion. When the two are from the same sex, they surely would hate each other, jealousy, envy, etc would arise. But when the two are of different sex, they may build bussiness together, or do some research together, etc. Honor and mutual respect become fundamental base of this relationship. The example of this pattern are Gemini-Sagittarius, Capricorn-Cancer, Pisces-Virgo, etc.

Okay there's that. You may believe or not believe in Astrology. But this may one of knowledge you may share and who knows it might be usefull.

FAcebook n Firefox

First off I hate new layout of facebook. Come on. I like the old one, log in and it displays all the recent news and status and stuffs all at one page. What the hell are the facebook guys thinking ?

Second off, since I update my firefox, things go wrong! It crashes many times. I hate it. Google chrome is okay but it doesn't provide any plugg in. And no I don't want to mention internet explorer. It's worse.

Oh how I really miss moments of internet stability and simplicity.

From now on I will remember to check her homework more thoroughly before she turns it in.

Black, White and Mating Preference

Just read some news about an arranged marriage happened in India, the groom was disappointed when he found out that his wife had dark colored skin. He divorced her for her color.

So I was googling searching for scientific explanation on why people choose lighter skin over dark, and it's especially true among male preference to female mate, and become more evidence in eastern countries. In Indonesia, skin whitening products becomes more likely a daily consumption for women and many women who happen to be darker skinned are struggling to be "white" to attract men. Some even are allergic to sun light.

It turns out it's hard to find resources I need to answer my wandering mind about this skin color problem. But I found a PDF file called "Behavioral and Brain Science: Sex differences in human" about human mating preference. I somehow generate a conclusion from the article that the reason why so many people show higher preference on lighter skin is because the skin color indirectly show level of status. People with dark colored skin is somehow associated with lower level working class working hard outside whose skin is burnt by the sun, which valued as people with less earning capability, while lighter skin associated with the otherwise. For the main goal of every species is to survive, people with higher earning capability is preferable and in many cultures this one is associated with "white" colored people; "who don't work so hard to earn a living and they don't get burnt just to live".

This article explains what qualities women pocess that attract male. Male are looking for female with higher capability for reproduction which is indicated by physical appearance such as boobs, hips and waist. And women who had more time to spend at house (those who don't go to hunt---to work) are more likely able to reproduce offspring than those who have to feed herself. Lighter skin females are somehow associated with this type of people---they don't go to work so they don't get bitten by the sun rays. It generates an association that lighter skin females are more reproductive than the darker ones.

Somehow this explanation may reasonable and so far this one is subject to fulfill my thirst.

Another thing in the article surprises me, during courtship many women would prefer men who bring her food like chocolate or ice cream because this attitude somehow shows an indication that he can feed her. When male would prefer female with higher capability of reproduction (which is indicated in physical appearance), female would love males with higher capability of earning property (to feed females and offspring).

So you guys, if you want to attract a woman, bring her food.

Baby Cry

Linguistics skills of a baby is severely limited in its first few months. But yet a baby can communicate its needs. Baby's cry is a means of communication with the outside world.

Strange that it may sound, but baby cries are of various types and have different meaning. Not that baby cries in Morse Code, but there is a distinct difference in baby cries during various situations. So parents need to pay close attention to figure the type of baby cries being uncorked. Every composition (baby's cries) is unique, but it tend to fall into one of the categories. Here are the types of baby cries and its meaning:

• Pain A sharp scream, followed by a moment of no breathing, and another sharp scream.
• Hunger A low pitched cry that rises and falls with a rhythm. The baby will usually root, suck on his or her hands and can't be calmed down.
• Fatigue A soft, rhythmic cry as the baby tries to pacify and go to sleep.
• Boredom A fake cry that stops when picked up. Wow, even kids get bored and know tricks!
• Discomfort A Whiny sound like the fake cry, but doesn't stop when picked up. Baby usually needs a diaper change or is too hot or cold.
